Was tun…? – bei rassistischen Polizeikontrollen // What to do about racist police controls?

1st workshop for those who are (potentially) affected
Saturday, 27.5.2017 / 12pm – 5pm

Li(e)berAnders – Iltisstr. 34 – Kiel-Gaarden

Do you know this? In the train or at the train station, in a park or on the street, police is controlling you. Only you. You think, this can“t be a coincidence. You know that this is injust and you think it has something to do with your appearance and your skin colour. You“re sure that there is a racist motivation behind the police control, but you don“t know what to do about it. You“re annoyed and/or afraid that you“ll get into trouble if you start an argument with the police. You want to react against the control – but how?

In this workshop, we want to deal with the system of racist police violence that came to be known as „racial profiling“. Together we want to exchange experiences and develop stategies to fight back. The goal ist to impart strength, solidarity and empowerment.

2nd workshop for (potential) witnesses, (potential) victims and everyone interested
Sunday, 28.5.2017 / 10am – 3pm

Li(e)berAnders – Iltisstr. 34 – Kiel-Gaarden

Do you know this? In the train or at the train station, in a park or on the street, police is controlling non-white people. Or you see police officers beating and handcuffing someone and taking them with them. You think something“s not right and racism is implicated. But maybe the control has a reason? Maybe there was something you didn“t notice. Or maybe it“s a typical „racial profiling“-situation. You want to intervene … but how? You“re unsure if and how it is possible to interfere. Or you“re afraid of what can happen when you start a fight with the police: Beating? Arrestment? A report against you?
In this workshop, we deal with the system of racist police violence and the consequences it has in the everyday lives of those who are affected by it. Based on their perspectives we develop steps of practical solidarity.

Tu connais l’histoire?
